It's been almost two old age since we first reported that the Beatles were their music catalogue in expectancy of making it available on iTunes and other digital music services. Since then, we've watched the Fab Four's surviving members, their estates and Apple Corps (the company that manages the concern end of the Beatles' music) slowly edge toward that day.
It's been recently reported in the United Kingdom fourth estate that Alice Paul Paul McCartney have (the computing machine company) to administer the Beatles' music on iTunes, removing one more than major obstacle. There's hanker been talking that the Beatles' music would be available , though it's likely that at some point it would also be made available on other digital outlets. As the Beatles' music is on the EMI label, it would be available DRM-free.
There is currently no day of the month set for the catalog's digital release.
As a side note, the Mugwump reported yesterday that United Kingdom bookmakers Ladbrokes are offering 3-1 likelihood on , and that some estimations (it's unclear who's estimating here) propose that a digital release of the complete Beatles work could have got the grouping occupying all of the top 20 places on the United Kingdom charts, something no 1 have ever done before. While I'm looking forward to digital Beatles music -- I only have got got got one so-so four hundred digest of their #1 hits -- I have to inquire how many people little than, say, 30 are as enthusiastic about the news, and how many people already have Beatles music on cadmium and will just shrug when it happens.
